"Dump hauling" and "junk removal" sound like the same thing, and they overlap — both end with your stuff gone. But they're priced differently and suited to different jobs. Here's how to tell which one your St. George cleanup actually needs.
What dump hauling is best for
Dump hauling is a dump trailer that shows up, gets loaded, and hauls the load off. It shines for loose, bulky, jobsite-style material:
- Dirt, fill, sod, and landscaping spoil
- Concrete, lumber, drywall, and remodel debris
- Branches, brush, and storm cleanup
- General non-hazardous debris that fills a trailer
We price it as one flat $350 per load inside our Southern Utah service area — no mileage, no fuel add-on, no per-item counting. If you're not sure whether your pile is one load or two, send a photo and we'll tell you straight before anything moves. Dense material (wet dirt, concrete, tile) fills the trailer by weight faster than light bulky material, so we flag a possible second trip up front rather than at the curb.
What junk removal is best for
Junk removal is more hands-on. It's the right call when the job is about items, not loose debris — and when you don't want to do any of the lifting:
- Furniture, appliances, and hot tubs
- A garage, estate, or full-house cleanout
- Awkward or heavy single items carried out of the house
- Mixed piles where someone has to sort and carry
Because it's labor-heavy, junk removal is usually priced by how much of the truck the job fills. You're paying for the crew doing the carrying, not just the haul-off.
The quick way to choose
A rough rule of thumb:
- Is it a pile you could shovel or toss into a trailer yourself if you had one? That's dump hauling — one flat $350 load and it's gone.
- Does someone need to go inside and carry heavy items out? That's junk removal.
- Somewhere in between? Send a photo. We'll tell you which is cheaper for your specific job — even when that means pointing you to the lower-cost option.
What neither one takes
For safety and by law, we can't haul hazardous material — paint, solvents, chemicals, oil, asbestos, or biohazard. Everything else, just ask; if it isn't hazmat and it fits, it's almost always a yes.
Prefer to do it yourself?
If you'd rather move the material on your own schedule, our cargo trailers are also available to rent by the day. Renting and self-loading can beat both services on a small job where you've got the time and a truck to tow — and if that's your situation, we'll say so.
Not sure which fits? Build a quote or send a photo, and we'll price the cheaper path for your cleanup.
