How to Move a Non-Running Vehicle in Southern Utah

July 7, 2026 · LoadPro

A vehicle that won't start, won't roll, or won't steer is a different problem than a simple tow. You can't just drive it onto a trailer, and dragging it risks more damage. Here's how a non-runner actually gets moved in Southern Utah — safely, and for a price you can see before it happens.

The winch does the work

Our 24ft enclosed cargo trailer carries a 10,000-lb winch. That's the piece that makes a non-runner a non-issue: the winch pulls the vehicle up onto the trailer under control, so it doesn't need to drive on under its own power. Whether it's a dead battery, a blown engine, a project car that's half apart, or something that only rolls in one direction, if it can be secured, we can load it.

Enclosed matters here too. A project vehicle or a non-runner is often exactly the kind of thing you don't want exposed to rain, rock chips, and road grime for a couple hundred miles — and enclosed keeps it out of sight and lockable on an overnight run.

What we'll ask you

To quote it right, it helps to know:

  • Does it roll and steer? Even if it won't start, a vehicle that rolls and steers loads faster than one that's locked up.
  • Where it's coming from and going to. Distance drives the mileage and fuel line items.
  • Anything unusual. Lowered, oversized, leaking, or partially disassembled — tell us up front so there are no surprises at pickup.

A photo of the vehicle and where it's parked goes a long way. Tight driveway or a spot the trailer can't easily reach? We've backed into worse — send the access and we'll tell you straight.

How the price works

A non-runner move is priced like any other vehicle transport: trailer, mileage, fuel, and the loading labor, each itemized and approved before we book. The winch loading is part of the driver-assist time, not a mystery surcharge. Run the pickup and drop-off through the transport calculator for a line-item estimate, or call and we'll price it with you.

Local, same-day when we can

We run non-runner and project-vehicle moves across St. George, Washington County, Iron County, and the I-15 corridor. Same-day is often possible — call early and we'll confirm the window. Build a quote to get a real number for your vehicle.
